What Are the Different Types of Codes and How Do They Work?

Modern car keys contain unique chips that are specific to each vehicle, which is not the case with older keys. This stops thieves from taking the key and putting it in the car.

Transponder Codes

Like its name suggests, a transponder sends out an encoded signal containing a four-digit number code when it is questioned by air traffic control. It can also be used to send specific messages to the air traffic control system in an emergency situation or to alert controllers to changes in weather conditions.
